888 West Broadway was successfully rezoned in January of 2020 for a new 437 unit hotel to replace the existing Park Inn & Suites. The City indicated strong support for a larger capacity hotel at this location because of its close proximity to Vancouver General Hospital. The property has since traded to a well known local developer who may look to alter the current proposed design and include a significant office component.
Details of the approved rezoning are as follows:
-commercial use at grade;
-437 hotel units (272 short-term and 165 long-term stay);
-a proposed floor space ratio (FSR) of 8.96;
-a building height of 42.3 m (138.8 ft.); and
-487 underground car parking spaces
